FELIX
The Next Level of Cooking
All these pop culture movies had shown us what could be possible in the future, we all wish it can happen in real life. Normally that’s impossible but now it is no longer a fantasy.
Food printing is no longer a fantasy
And so…
Imagine a food printer in every consumer’s home within the next eight years. How would this appliance integrate into different living spaces as a versatile kitchen appliance?

This is Felix
Process
When deciding on Felix’s look, I focused on rounded shapes and transparency. By introducing more transparency and a softer, less rigid form, Felix feels more approachable—instilling confidence and excitement in users.

Idea of flow
A quick little instructions for Felix, is that you first take the filaments out from the food packaging, insert it at the side, put the plate in, change to printing mode, then print and cook. At last wa la a delicious plate of food.

During this project, I took a UX design class and the teacher there was talking about the 8 golden rules of interface design, one of the rules really touches me and therefore I decided to instead of hiding the power switch like most products I want to show it and have that classic look and satisfaction to turn the machine on.
